UPVAN Plans for 2009-2010

Its last General Body Meeting (28-9-08) unanimously decided to work upon the following issues:-

• Right to information and sensitization of rural young folk.

• The need, process & importance of social audit for NREGA implementation in the State.

• Advocacy towards the issues related to State Policy for Voluntary Sector in U.P.

• Membership Management & Alliance Building with Voluntary Organization at State, National & International Levels.

• Time bound information Resource Center to facilitate easy Communications.

State Policy for Voluntary Sector, U.P

A committee to frame the State policy meet on 27-04-09. The provisions proposed in policy of Uttarakhand were taken into consideration. Chief Executive officer of Vani New Delhi, Mr. Paresh Tiwari emphasized on GO-NGO partnership with equal footings, power and authority. He further suggested to make a provision of joint advisory committee for maintaining and promoting the relationship between the two Mr. Ashok Bhai, Secretary UPVAN suggested the Organization of a commission for the purpose.

Social Audit for NREGA

UPVAN decides to facilitate NGOs to make them prepared for social audit in National Rural Employment Guarantee Program for the purpose 5 member organizations in different districts assembled to share the mutual experiences, process, precautions & skills for the purpose.
