Introduction
Nine is Mine is a Children’s
Campaign to ensure that 9% of GDP is allocated for education
and Health as promised in The National Common Minimum Program.
This Campaign has been initiated by Wada Na To do Abhiyaan
(Keep The Promises Campaign) which is a National Coalition
of over 900 organization working to ensure fulfillment of
Millennium Development Goals, National Development Goals
and Common Minimum Program. UPVAN, a network of 261 organizations
across U.P. is an active partner in Nine is Mine campaign
ast year our network had mobilized 1-lakh children of Uttar
Pradesh as part of the Signature campaign conducted by Wada
Na To Do Abhiyaan to advocate for this cause.

NINE
IS MINE is a children's campaign to ensure
that 9% of GDP is allocated for their education and health
as promised in the common minimum programe. This campaign
has been initiated by Wanda Na Todo Abhiyan (Keep The Promises
campaign) which is a National coalition of 3000 organizations
ensuring fulfillment of MDGs. UPVAN as a broad based network
of 267organisations across 69 districts of UP, is an active
state partner of WNTA. This year UPVAN had mobilized 42000
children for signature campaign to remind State Commitment.
Nine Is Mine campaign was started by UPVAN on 25 Oct 2008
.the objective was to build a pressure on Govt. for increase
of allocation 9% of GDP(6% on education and 3% on health
of GDP). A set of signature cards and 10 pamphlets were
sent to its 167 member organizations. Schools/colleges were
contacted by them for signature campaign at local level.
To strengthen this campaign the Programme Officer in UPVAN
visited three districts of UP. Around 42000 cards were signed
by children were sent to the Education Minister Mr. Rangnath
Mishra State of UP.
